The National Erasmus Games (NEG) are a sports event organized by Erasmus Student Network (ESN), bringing together international students from different cities and universities. It is a multi-sport tournament where Erasmus and international students compete in various disciplines while promoting integration, intercultural exchange, and fair play.
How do the NEG work?
The NEG consists of three main phases:
- Local phase – Organized by local ESN sections, where students participate in competitions within their cities.
- National phase – Winners of the local phase advance to the national stage, representing their city or university in a nationwide competition.
- International phase – National winners qualify for the International Erasmus Games (IEG), where they compete against teams from all over Europe.
The sports included in the NEG vary depending on the edition but typically feature disciplines such as football, basketball, volleyball, and athletics. The event is also a great opportunity to build connections, share experiences, and fully embrace the Erasmus spirit in a dynamic and international sports setting.
